SUMMARY:Webinar: From Taxonomy to Ontology
DESCRIPTION:ON-DEMAND WEBINAR \n \n \n \n \n \n From Taxonomy to Ontology\nMake meaning with data connections\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speaker\n Heather HeddenData and Knowledge EngineerSemantic Web Company \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n From Taxonomy to Ontology\nThere are many uses and benefits to taxonomies\, but there is even more you can do with an ontology\, such as supporting more complex searches\, search across datasets\, search on variable criteria\, and graph visualizations. Fortunately\, it’s not necessary to create a complete ontology from scratch\, if you already have taxonomies or other controlled vocabularies. These vocabularies can be enriched with the features of an ontology (semantic relationships\, custom attributes\, and classes) by taking the approach of building an ontology as a semantic layer on top of existing vocabularies. \nThis webinar provides an introduction to ontologies and their components and walks through the steps of extending a taxonomy by designing and adding an ontology semantic layer. \nTune in to our webinar to hear some of the following key topics: \n\nWhy extend a taxonomy\nWhat is an ontology\nStandards for taxonomies and ontologies\nExtending a taxonomy: different approaches to creating an ontology\nApplying an ontology as a semantic layer to a taxonomy/thesaurus\nExample implementation of ontology-based facets\nDemo of extending a taxonomy with an ontology in PoolParty Semantic Suite \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speaker\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Heather Hedden\n Data and Knowledge Engineer\, Semantic Web Company \n Heather Hedden is a Data and Knowledge Engineer with Semantic Web Company Inc.\, vendor of PoolParty Semantic Suite software for developing taxonomies\, ontologies\, knowledge graphs\, and semantic search applications. \nHeather has 25 years of experience in developing and managing taxonomies and other knowledge organization systems for various organizations and applications\, both as an employee and as a consultant. SUMMARY:Convex Tempe 2022
DESCRIPTION:Meet Semantic Web Company’s CEO\, Andreas Blumauer and Chief Solutions Officer\, Florian Bauer in Tempe\, Arizona. ConVEx Tempe is a highly interactive event that provides an opportunity to improve communication and collaboration across multiple departments and gives you a rare insider’s look at what is working (or not) for other teams. \nTake a look at the presentations and sessions we are holding: \nThe Semantic Content HubAndreas Blumauer\, Semantic Web Company Inc. \nThe Semantic Content Hub: Ambiguity\, language discrepancies\, and lack of background information are just a few challenges that organizations face on a daily basis when trying to analyze their content and data. This talk will focus on various semantic modeling methods you can use to organize your unstructured data and the benefits of a comprehensive knowledge graph. \nAutomatically Categorize and Tag Content Using Semantic AIFlorian Bauer\, Semantic Web Company Inc. and Chip Gettinger\, RWS \nWhile most reliable CMS have their own native tagging & search\, these pale in comparison to the benefits you can get with automated tagging based on Semantic AI. This session will introduce the concept of auto classification (semantic concept tagging) which allows users to automatically categorize and tag content with rich descriptors that enable advanced findability of content in search engines and will showcase the successful implementation of Semantic AI in Tridion Docs. \nTechnology Test Kitchen – How Semantic AI Applications are BuiltAndreas Blumauer\, Semantic Web Company Inc. \nThis session will explain and demonstrate how to develop customized taxonomies based on text corpus analysis and standard vocabularies. It will be shown how these subsequently act as the core for the development of a comprehensive knowledge graph\, and how this can link content and data across silos in a largely automated way using ontologies and graph-based tagging and mapping. \n \n \n \n \n \n Click the button below for more information about the event and find out how to register.   \n \n Visit Event page

SUMMARY:External Webinar: The Future of Intelligent Content Management\, Semantic AI and Content Impact
DESCRIPTION:Big Data & AI World Asia\n \n \n \n \n \n Webinar hosted by Acrolinx | April 26\, 2022  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Disparate digital experiences (DX) are one of the biggest challenges businesses face today. Poorly thought out or siloed content can not only prevent enterprises from creating the best digital experiences for their customers\, but can ultimately also lead a business to fail to reach its goals. \nAnd even if amazing content is created\, it’s incredibly hard to cut through the noise. In many instances it’s not about having more content generated\, it’s about generating\, managing\, and distributing the right content for your audience. Combining a semantic content hub\, strong content management\, and an intelligent content impact platform can help you create an optimal content solution to drive your business objectives. \nIn this webinar\, Jörg Schmidt (Senior Solutions Architect at RWS)\, Florian Bauer (Senior Solutions Architect at Semantic Web Company)\, and Daniel Nutburn (VP Global Partners and Alliances at Acrolinx) come together to discuss: \n\nWhy it’s important to make sure that your content isn’t only “healthy”\, but all-around fit to create a great digital experience for your customers\nHow to create a roadmap to better content by improving the content supply chain through semantic AI capabilities\nWhat it takes to build a semantic content hub\, from centrally managed taxonomies and automated tagging all the way to semantic search\n\n \n Watch the recording!

SUMMARY:Webinar: Understand Your Data - How Text Mining with PoolParty Drives Your Semantic AI
DESCRIPTION:Recorded Webinar \n \n \n \n \n \n UNDERSTAND YOUR DATA\n \n \n \n \n \n How Text Mining with PoolParty drives your Semantic AI \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speakers\n Andreas Blumauer\, CEO Semantic Web CompanyChristian Blaschke\, Product Owner at Semantic web Company \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Enterprise data is mostly unstructured and follows a siloed logic\, which leaves little opportunity for meaningful metadata to occur.  As a result\, what would be an otherwise treasure trove of data\, can hardly be used for automation or deeper text analytics\, nor can it be networked with more highly structured data in the enterprise. On top of all these headaches\, search applications in most enterprises are still far more rudimentary than what we are used to from internet search engines like Google. \n  \nWhy is this and can it be done better? \nThe quality of automated natural language processing (NLP) and intelligent document processing (IDP) depends largely on what the underlying algorithms know about the domain in question. So machine learning based on training data that also does not contain this knowledge\, is not effective. Instead\, the solution is to combine machine learning with knowledge graphs. \nWhat our brains have been doing for millennia\, what Google has been pioneering since 2012\, is now entering the reality of the business world: semantic AI — the combination of symbolic and statistical AI. \n  \nWhat is semantic AI\, and what does it have to do with text mining?  \nSemantic AI has always focused on being able to infer and classify the meaning of large content sets in a largely automated way. Only when a machine is able to reliably annotate and disambiguate the meaning of a text in an explainable way\, can it be used for further automation\, including in business-critical processes and decision making. Furthermore\, this is to be based on the principles of explainable AI (XAI).  \nSemantic AI can do all that: it helps complement black-box AI with explainability and takes your AI platform to the next level. Semantic AI no longer just analyzes the surface of your data\, it understands the meaning behind it. \n  \nHow can you use PoolParty to benefit from semantic AI? \nPoolParty Semantic Suite is a software platform that can: \n\n\n\n\n\n analyze\, classify\, annotate and cross-link your unstructured data.\nuse unstructured data in a performant\, accurate\, reliable\, and secure way; \nin various multilingual environments and in almost any knowledge domain. \n\n\n\n\n\nThis 21st century key technology has been developed by semantic web pioneers over the last 15 years and is being used by major global organizations. \nIn this on-demand webinar\, learn more about the many use cases of Semantic AI and how they can be implemented using the PoolParty Semantic Suite.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Andreas Blumauer\n CEO at Semantic Web Company \n Andreas Blumauer is CEO and co-founder of Semantic Web Company (SWC)\, the provider and developer of the PoolParty Semantic Platform. SUMMARY:Information Architecture Conference 2022
DESCRIPTION:The IA conference exists to promote discourse and learning about the intentional design of information environments. It is a gathering of practitioners from around the globe\, who practice and teach Information Architecture and other design-related disciplines. Be the preeminent event for information architecture learning and discourse \n\nThe IA conference prides itself on provoking engaging conversations that take place between conference attendees.\nThe IA conference exposes practitioners to leading best-practices and the latest research.\nThe conference is committed to providing resources for practitioners at all stages of their career.\n\nRevisiting Taxonomies: Topics in Taxonomy Design\nby Heather Hedden\, PoolParty TeamApril 18\, 202211:00 AM to 2:00 PM ET\nCreating a taxonomy is not difficult\, but creating a good taxonomy that is ideally suited for its use can be more challenging\, and requires training and/or experience. Even those experienced in creating taxonomies often face challenges with new taxonomy projects. (That’s what makes taxonomy creation always interesting.) Rather than a repeat of last year’s taxonomy workshop\, this workshop includes some review of the fundamentals\, but quickly moves on to a deeper discussion of specific taxonomy design issues. This intermediate-advanced workshop proposes best practices and guidance for making decisions\, including determining: \n\nHow best to engage stakeholders\nWhat kind of taxonomy structure to create\nWhether to create one or more separate taxonomies for different users\nWhether a given hierarchy should stand alone as its own taxonomy or be a top term within a larger taxonomy\nWhether named entities should be narrower concepts to their category type or in a separate list\nWhether and when it’s OK to not strictly follow hierarchical relationships standards\nIf customized semantic relationships (features of an ontology) should be included and how\n\nCriteria to consider when reviewing an existing taxonomy for revision will also be presented. Finally\, we will also look at examples of taxonomies and discuss how they can be improved. \nClick the button below for more information about the conference and how to register.  \n \n Visit Event page

The focus on user intent is becoming paramount because providing the customers exactly what they desire is key to a successful business. Search engines work with that mindset\, and the same is expected from business websites and applications. The customers want the correct answer quickly and accurately at each digital touchpoint. Understanding user intent is a decisive factor when it comes to designing modern content management strategies for enterprises. At RWS\, we understand the importance of adding intelligence to content management technology to make lives easier for businesses. Pure machine learning isn’t enough to provide businesses with the clarity or the future-proofing they need to succeed. Combining the power of knowledge graphs\, machine learning\, and content management bring explainability and accuracy to businesses. This is why we are working together with PoolParty to bring operational excellence to businesses by combining our content management technology with the core services from Semantic Web company.\n \n Watch On-Demand

The classic question of build vs. buy applies to taxonomies\, too. And can be answered in our webinar led by Data & Knowledge Engineer Heather Hedden. \nBuilding your own taxonomy has the advantage of customizing it to your content and user needs from the start\, but can take time and resources that are not readily available. Buying a starter taxonomy can be a good option if a taxonomy is available in the desired subject domain. \nThis webinar looks at the benefits and challenges of both options and suggests a possibly hybrid approach of buying\, then modifying a taxonomy. It also explains the role corpus analysis\, natural language processing\, and autoclassification play in getting started with taxonomies. \nTune in to our webinar to hear some of the following key topics: \n\nAn introduction to taxonomies\nHow to build a taxonomy that’s relevant to your use case and scope\nHow to edit your taxonomy\nHow to acquire or license existing industry taxonomies\nThe benefits of taxonomies as a whole\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speaker\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Heather Hedden\n Data and Knowledge Engineer\, Semantic Web Company \n Heather Hedden is a Data and Knowledge Engineer with Semantic Web Company Inc.\, vendor of PoolParty Semantic Suite software for developing taxonomies\, ontologies\, knowledge graphs\, and semantic search applications. \nHeather has 25 years of experience in developing and managing taxonomies and other knowledge organization systems for various organizations and applications\, both as an employee and as a consultant. From this data layer we can get a 360-degree view of all our content. Benefits include improving the search and navigation experience to discover our content. We should also be able to build and deliver new tools and applications much more quickly than before; manage security and access to content more flexibly; and ultimately to bring down the costs of managing our platform. This presentation will describe the journey to build our data fabric\, using PoolParty and Ontotext GraphDB. It will discuss our motivations and drivers\, the challenges we experienced\, and the use cases we are implementing\, to make a difference to the population of Australia.\n \n Watch On-Demand

They will also be joined by Maura Moran of Mekon to show you how an integration of PoolParty and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) works with Mekon’s Semantic Booster.Their presentation will focus on the following key points: \n\nReal-world business use cases for auto classification\nAn introduction to PoolParty PowerTagging as the solution\, and how it works\nHow PowerTagging can be integrated with AEM\nHow PowerTagging can be integrated with SharePoint\nThe numerous benefits people experience with these powerful integrations\n\nTune in to see live demos of PowerTagging for SharePoint and the Semantic Booster for AEM! \nBy the end of this webinar\, you will see how you can use auto classification to enhance your CMS with a dynamic\, intelligent search engine powered by semantic AI. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Watch now\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speakers\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Florian Bauer\n CSO at Semantic Web Company \n \n LinkedIn\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Maura Moran\n Senior Content Consultant at Mekon Ltd. \n \n LinkedIn\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Ali Marhubi\n Data & Knowledge Engineer at Semantic Web Company \n \n LinkedIn\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Alexi López-Lorca \n Data & Knowledge Engineer at Semantic Web Company \n \n LinkedIn

It allows a lot of flexibility for modeling as well as combining data sets by linking graphs together\, which has the potential to solve enterprise data heterogeneity problems in a bottom-up and flexible manner. \nWhen processing and linking together graph data in enterprises on a large scale\, ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) processes supporting Semantic Web standards are used for automation. These processes\, while being able to handle heterogeneity\, have to consider a lot of different complex cases and therefore issues regarding inconsistencies and incompleteness in the data can occur. \nTo keep control of data quality\, we use approaches to analyze and adapt the data so that inconsistencies can be taken into account for further actions or\, if possible\, the data is automatically repaired. \nThe Semantic Web provides SHACL\, the shapes constraint language\, for graph data validation to detect inconsistencies regarding defined constraints and report them for further processing. \nIn this talk\, we present an approach for validation and processing of inconsistencies to improve the quality for large knowledge graphs. We show a prototypical system which implements this in a high performance setup based on the RDFox triple store\, where we combine SHACL validation with Datalog rules to demonstrate inconsistency management for practical use cases. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speakers\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Albin Ahmeti\n Data and Knowledge Engineer at Semantic Web Company \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Yavor Nenov\n Chief Science Officer at Oxford Semantic Technologies \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Robert David\n CTO at Semantic Web Company

SUMMARY:Webinar: How product managers\, marketers\, and digital sales benefit from knowledge graphs
DESCRIPTION:ON-DEMAND WEBINAR\n \n \n \n \n \n How product managers\, marketers\, and digital sales benefit from knowledge graphs\n \n \n \n \n \n Four corporate case studies for 360° product content life cycles\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speakers\n Andreas Blumauer\, CEO at Semantic Web CompanyJohn Kottcamp\, CMT at Tahzoo \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Over the last year of the pandemic\, we’ve experienced a myriad of examples of the breakdown of the supply chain\, the disconnect between product\, marketing\, and sales\, and the resultant losses to the bottom line. While we can’t solve all those challenges in one hour\, we can tackle the challenge that companies have the most control over: the disconnect between product\, marketing\, and sales when it comes to creating and managing product content. \nIf bridging the gap between departments is the focus\, implementing enterprise-wide knowledge graphs is the remedy. Our webinar will show you how Semantic Web Company and Tahzoo have partnered together to build solutions that remove disconnect and facilitate better content management. \nKnowledge graphs are more widely talked about and understood in the context of helping customers find the right information or product on a website using semantic search.  But perhaps knowledge graphs can have their biggest impact on a company’s bottom line across the product content lifecycle\, from development to distribution\, delivery and presentation. \nIn this on-demand webinar\, we will examine various use cases where knowledge graphs have helped connect the entire product content lifecycle from product introduction to product maturity.  And more importantly\, we will examine the business value generated by using knowledge graphs along the entire product content lifecycle. \nTune in to hear John Kottcamp\, Chief Marketing Technologist at Tahzoo\, and Andreas Blumauer\, CEO at Semantic Web Company explain: \n\nReal-world examples of knowledge graphs being used in companies\nProduct 360: What is it? What value does it bring?\nFront-end demos of enterprise knowledge graphs and graph search\nKey business outcomes and benefits\n\nBy the end of the session\, you will understand what you can begin doing today to reduce the friction between product managers\, marketers\, and digital sales.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speakers\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Andreas Blumauer\n CEO at Semantic Web Company \n \n LinkedIn\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n John Kottcamp\n CMT at Tahzoo \n \n LinkedIn
