Picture it effortlessly mapping out relationships between concepts\, listing alternative labels\, and defining terms with precision. This would revolutionize the role of taxonomists and domain experts\, handing over their intricate tasks to a large language model. \nWhile the journey to harness Generative AI for taxonomy creation has begun\, the results have yet to meet expectations. The intricate dance between taxonomists and domain experts is challenging for machines to replicate\, and the nuanced linguistic analysis required to accurately contextualize concepts remains elusive. \nUnlocking the Potential of Taxonomists with the support of AI\nIntroducing the PoolParty Taxonomy Advisor\, an LLM-supported application that allows taxonomists and domain experts to create domain-specific taxonomies from a set of documents. \nMost GenAI for taxonomy creation is unsatisfactory due to complex collaboration processes and linguistic analysis issues. The PoolParty Taxonomy Advisor corrects this with the suggestion function – the sweet spot for GenAI in taxonomy management. It allows for an employee\, or human-in-the-loop (HITL) to: \n\nselect from suggested narrower concepts and edit them\nselect from suggested related concepts and edit them\nselect from suggested definitions and edit them\nperform single or bulk suggestion operations\ncheck the created entries for consistency with the whole taxonomy\n\n\nJoin “The PoolParty Taxonomy Advisor” webinar\, hosted by Márk Szabó\, Java Developer at Semantic Web Company\, where you’ll get a first look at the updated PoolParty Taxonomy Advisor that will be featured in the PoolParty 9.5 release. It wants to explore a regulatory recommender that would use the tags applied to courses and regulations to pair an individual with the appropriate training material specific to their license\, care setting\, and state. This is being built in collaboration with Semantic Web Company\, utilizing its LLM-based Taxonomy Advisor and Recommender feature to extend the taxonomy and its Semantic Integrator technologies to power the recommendations. The primary objective for this recommender is that its architecture be easily understandable and maintainable by our knowledge management team. A previous attempt to build such a recommender was too complex\, leading to unexplainable results and an inability to fine-tune the recommendations based on feedback. It is critical that these recommendations be accurate\, as this is legal content that has implications for professionals maintaining licensure if incorrect courses are suggested to fulfill the requirements. \nEvent: Text Analytics ForumDate: Thursday\, November 21: 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. \nSpeakers:Laura Rodriguez\, Knowledge Manager\, HealthStreamAlexi Lopez-Lorca\, Associate Director\, Professional Services\, Semantic Web Company \n See more details\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Enhancing Content Strategy Information Management With LLMs and Symbolic AIClassifying content based on thesauri is an established method in content strategy and information management. By connecting key types of enterprise content (structured\, unstructured\, semi-structured)\, a semantic layer connects data and knowledge\, enabling organizations to define relationships without centralizing everything into one “monolithic system”.  \nGraph Retrieval-Augmented Generation (GraphRAG) represents the cutting edge of AI-powered data analysis. By combining the strengths of knowledge graphs and large language models (LLMs)\, GraphRAG offers unprecedented capabilities in data interpretation and insight generation – keeping response focus high and hallucination low. \nUnlocking the Potential of AI Through Semantic Layers and GraphRAG \nAs we navigate the complexities of modern data management and the opportunities presented by advanced AI technologies\, semantic layers emerge as a critical component of any forward-thinking data strategy. By enabling GraphRAG applications to add organizational context\, semantic layers not only solve current data integration challenges but also position organizations to leverage the full potential of AI-driven insights in the future. \n“How a Semantic Layer enables GraphRAG Applications in the Real World\,” explores the critical role of semantic layers in enabling advanced AI applications and enhancing enterprise data management. SUMMARY:Ontotext Knowledge Graph Forum
DESCRIPTION:Ontotext’s Knowledge Graph Forum is a free two-day online event addressing the full spectrum of knowledge graph business applications and the technology partner ecosystem needed to deliver that value. As a partner of Ontotext\, Semantic Web Company is pleased to participate.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Graph-Driven RAG AI Powered by DITACan generative AI benefit from structured content? What role play knowledge graphs in this? And what does all of that have to do with DITA? After they discovered the shortcomings of vector-based RAG there is a buzz in the industry around knowledge graph-driven retrieval-augmented generation (Graph RAG). This session will put the question of whether and how DITA fits into that equation. Michael Iantosca\, Senior Direct of Knowledge Platforms and Engineering at Avalara\, and Helmut Nagy\, Chief Product Officer of Semantic Web Company will demonstrate a full-scale implementation of a graph-driven RAG based on intelligent structured content. Presented by Iantosca as graph AI theory at CIDM and in Best Practices newsletters just as generative AI blasted into the mainstream\, this session will explain how DITA was used to automate the construction and maintenance of a scalable knowledge graph to drive generative AI applications along with a fully functional advanced neuro-symbolic chatbot that supports what other models lack: the ability to do inferencing and reasoning. This isn’t your typical show-and-tell session\, but an in-depth review of how the model and solution were built\, the theory behind it\, and how other teams can replicate the same. Several years ago\, some audacious Markdown maven declared that DITA was getting “long in the tooth”. Now\, at the dawn of neuro-symbolic generative AI\, it turns out that DITA was indeed\, the future. \n  \nDate:Tuesday 22 Oct 5:00 PM (CEST)Speakers: Helmut Nagy\, CPO\, Semantic Web Company |Michael Iantosca\, Sr. Director of Knowledge Platforms and Engineering at Avalara Inc \n See more details\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n How Graph RAG is Disrupting Software MarketsLearn how the fusion of Graphs with Generative AI will open up a universe of new applications. \nDate:Wednesday 23 Oct 3:00 PM (CEST)Speakers: Andreas BlumauerCEO\, Founder Semantic Web Company \n See more details\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Click the button below for more information about the Knowledge Graph Forum and how to register. \n \n Visit Event page

SUMMARY:CrossMediaForum 2024
DESCRIPTION:Publishers and media companies are under pressure: they have to run their core business and develop innovative offerings at the same time – and do so with limited resources. This can only succeed if the core and\, above all\, content processes are as lean as possible and run without many manual activities or are supported by AI tools. \nUnder the motto “More creativity and customer-oriented media offerings through (AI) tool support and automation”\, publishing managers and leading solution providers will present innovative and tried-and-tested processes and tools. \nThe event is held in German language. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n CEO Andreas Blumauer’s talk at CrossMediaForum 2024 \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n GPTs have revolutionized AI. Do we still need knowledge models and taxonomies\, and why?In many specialist fields such as law\, medicine or ESG\, the central expectation of users is not only reliability and completeness but also a concise summary of information. If specialist publishers want to use AI technologies for their customers\, they should not only create content for users using LLM\, but also use a semantically processed knowledge base as a basis. In his presentation\, Andreas Blumauer explains the interplay between LLM and graph technology and uses the example of the knowledge-hub.eco portal to show the advantages of this combined approach. \nSpeaker:Andreas Blumauer\, Semantic Web Company \n See more details

SUMMARY:Webinar: Generative AI Powered by Knowledge Graphs
DESCRIPTION:ON-DEMAND WEBINAR \n \n \n \n \n \n Generative AI Powered by Knowledge Graphs\n\nUnleashing the potential of Semantic Retrieval Augmented Generation\n \n Watch On-Demand\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speaker\n Andreas Blumauer\, CEO & Co-founder\, Semantic Web Company \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Date\n May 23\, 2024 \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n What is Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)? \nThere has been a lot of buzz about the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs). We have witnessed instances where the outcomes produced by LLMs are impressive\, or at the very least\, sound impressive\, while at other times\, the results may fall short. However\, relying solely on an open-source LLM poses a few challenges – the information provided may be inaccurate\, outdated\, and lack clear sourcing. Retrieval Augemented Generation\, or RAG\, is a framework designed to enhance LLMs’ accuracy\, relevance\, and traceability by supplementing user-generated prompts with primary source data. \nLeveraging Semantic Technology to enhance the capabilities of RAGAs we have seen\, the possibilities for hallucinations (creation of false or misleading information)  in LLMs is high. When looking at Generative AI in content creation\, this defeats the purpose to assist the knowledge user in content creation by providing quick and reliable information. Worse yet\, this poses a serious risk of disseminating inaccurate information in critical sectors such as pharmaceuticals\, insurance\, and health & safety\, where even a single piece of incorrect data can have disastrous consequences.  \nUnlocking the true potential of Generative AI hinges on building AI you can rely on\, or “AI you trust”. This ushers the need for combining LLMs with a myriad of tools and AI methodologies to develop trustworthy Generative AI solutions. SUMMARY:Knowledge Graph Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Knowledge Graph Conference 2024 will be home to inspirational future-proof keynotes\, talks and masterclasses from trailblazers and pioneers in AI and KG-related industries. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConnect with professionals\, researchers\, and enthusiasts from diverse industries. Build valuable relationships\, exchange ideas\, and collaborate on potential projects. The Knowledge Graph Conference provides a unique platform to expand your professional network and engage with like-minded individuals. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n As a vendor\, we have our team at the conference giving talks and waiting for you at our PoolParty booth.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The best of 3 worlds: An SGE for ESGThis presentation will report on the integration of LLMs\, semantic knowledge models and recommender systems that serve as the enabling technology for a Search Generative Experience (SGE). The presented application is at its core based on a comprehensive ESG domain model to provide sustainable investment and ESG practitioners with referenceable and reliable information. \nFirstly\, we address the question of what a practical search or question and answer engine should look like from the user’s perspective\, especially when dealing with a complex domain such as ESG. How can users with different levels of knowledge and different roles and tasks be served and learn to understand relationships across a domain without losing the common thread? How can it be ensured that authoritative sources are always referenced\, if they are available? How can this design pattern be applied to other application classes\, e.g. when setting up a help and support desk for products that require explanation? In the second part of the presentation\, we will discuss the underlying architecture and show how knowledge models provide key services for prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). In addition\, we take a closer look at the underlying ESG knowledge model and learn about the principles according to which it is developed and how LLMs are used for this purpose. We briefly return to the roots of the Semantic Web and look at the data model from the perspectives of interoperability\, explainability and the possibility of developing semantic models independently of the application logic and thus making them reusable. \nFinally\, we take a bird’s eye view and look at the presented SGE for ESG application as one facet of a more comprehensive knowledge hub. We see the underlying knowledge graph as the driver for the efficient development of domain-specific applications\, e.g. to enable specific views of ESG data from investors or enterprises in the case of sustainable business. \nDate:May 8\, 11:00 AM-11:30 AMClassroom 215Speaker:Andreas Blumauer\, Semantic Web Company \n See more details

There is a lot of excitement about what they can do\, but also a lot of concern about how they do it. \nIt’s one thing to let generative AI write a poem or the description of a talk (not the case here)\, but can we trust it to give us the right answers to critical questions or make the right decisions? The clear disadvantages of this approach are the lack of explainability of the results\, consistency\, and accuracy of responses\, the need for large amounts of high-quality data\, and the potential for bias in the content generated by the models. One possible answer to these challenges is to combine these generative technologies with knowledge graphs that can help explain the results and support the generation of high-quality data to train the models. The combination of generative AI and symbolic AI can ultimately lead to eXplainable AI (XAI)\, which can help us in our daily work. \nWe will show the benefits of combining both technologies\, how knowledge graphs and intelligent structured source content can help to create better and more explainable results with generative technologies\, and how generative technologies can help to create better knowledge graphs. This combination will lead to the creation of intelligent content that enables deeper understanding and informed decision making. \nEtteplan and Semantic Web Company have developed unparalleled experiences and capabilities in creating\, developing\, and maintaining consistent (technical) knowledge bases for many companies across multiple industries and markets – placing them in a unique position to leverage the true potential of Large Language Models.\n \n WATCH ON-DEMAND\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speakers\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Eric Tengstrand\n Vice President Global Service Solutions at Etteplan \n With over 10 years of experience in leading and developing service solutions for different customers within the manufacturing industry\, Eric is currently the Vice President Global Service Solutions in Technical Communication Solutions at Etteplan. \nEtteplan is a rapidly growing Technology Service company specializing in software and embedded solutions\, engineering solutions\, and technical communication solutions.
