For most of our products, there are two options: PoolParty can be used as a cloud-based service, but also as an enterprise software service behind the firewall. Customers who subscribe for the cloud service will benefit from a turnkey solution. Publish your data and vocabularies as ‘Linked Open Data’. Make use of PoolParty’s highly available cloud services by integrating them with your web applications on top of the PoolParty API. There are no functional restrictions compared to an enterprise installation. By default, PoolParty’s cloud services are hosted in one of the most secure and reliable data centers of Europe (see: Datasix).
PoolParty is not only, but also a search technology. First of all, PoolParty provides means to improve search applications by automatic enrichment of a search index by additional semantics derived from a knowledge graph. We provide several search products like the PoolParty Search Server, which comes with a full-blown search API to realize sophisticated search applications providing faceted search, various smart search assistants including content recommender. sOnr Server was especially developed to be integrated with Confluence, Drupal or any other CMS. It also provides means to support semantic search over structured data records (integrated with Atlassian Confluence’s Blueprints). Additionally, a pure SPARQL-based search called PoolParty GraphSearch is available as an optional add-on for the Semantic Integrator.
Making use of open standards developed by the W3C makes sure that your investment is future-proof. Whenever a knowledge graph is developed, PoolParty makes sure it will follow standards like SKOS, RDF or SPARQL. As an additional network effect, using Semantic Web standards let you digest a huge amount of linked data from other providers. You can link your own knowledge graphs even with other linked data sources from the LOD cloud.
PoolParty technologies are mainly based on Java. PoolParty can be run on 64bit Linux (Debian GNU/Linux 6, CentOS/Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) or 64bit Windows (Windows Server 2008 R2). For PoolParty Advanced Server, a minimum of 4 GB RAM dedicated to Apache Tomcat should be available (8 GB are recommended). There are options to cluster PoolParty services. No additional database has to be installed. On client side there is only a browser needed to maintain PoolParty thesauri (See also: PoolParty System Requirements).
PoolParty API offers a list of methods to make your enterprise applications smarter than ever before (See: Socrates helps integrating PoolParty). The PoolParty API offers an light weight API for accessing data of a PoolParty server and to integrate text analytics into your applications. PoolParty Search Server API offers all the typical services needed to develop semantic search applications. Besides that, all data of your knowledge graphs can be easily accessed following the linked data principles designed by W3C (learn more).
